JokeUp Comedy Club was founded in Guangzhou on April 18, 2024.
As Guangzhou’s first English comedy club, JokeUp created a stage where international comedians, local performers and curious audiences could meet through one shared language: laughter.
We produce open mics, showcases, improv, comedy games, crowd-work shows and special performances across Guangzhou and Guangdong.

JokeUp started with a simple idea: Guangzhou needed a place where people could experience live comedy in English every week.
What began as a small room, a microphone and a few brave performers quickly grew into a diverse comedy community. First-timers share the stage with experienced comedians, while audiences from around the world become part of the show.
Some nights are polished. Some are chaotic. Some jokes fly and others die dramatically. That is the beauty of live comedy—and we would not have it any other way.
