JokeUp is an English comedy community built in Guangzhou. We bring comedians, first-timers, international audiences and local comedy fans together through stand-up, open mics, improv and unforgettable live shows.

JokeUp started with a simple idea: create a stage where experienced comedians can develop their material and complete beginners can perform their first joke without feeling out of place.
Our audiences are just as important as our performers. Whether you are new to Guangzhou, curious about stand-up or simply looking for a fun night, there is a place for you in the room.
It started with a microphone.
JokeUp began as a place for people to try comedy, meet new friends and share a few laughs after a long week.
Since then, it has grown into a comedy community producing weekly open mics, showcases, improv nights, touring specials, birthday roasts and original comedy projects across Guangzhou and nearby cities.
We are still building, experimenting and finding new ways to make live comedy feel exciting, welcoming and worth leaving the house for.
